Friday 15th May

Good morning!

Today we are visiting the spectacular Tower Bridge, in London. The Tower Bridge web-site has some child and family-friendly activities while it is obviously closed. Although you are still able to walk across it and admire the structure and the views. There is a very good series of four podcasts, by the Education Officer, that cover the history of Tower Bridge; Origins and Design, Design and Construction, How and Who Lifts Tower Bridge and Fantastic Feat and Amazing Anecdote. The podcasts are a very reasonable length and clear and simple, so suitable for children (and people like me who only like brief guides on visits). There is also a Family Friendly Activities section with Origami Boats, Spot the Difference and Colouring Sheets. I have also included the link for Visit London, where you can find the virtual visit to Tower Bridge (and other London landmarks).

All of the links can be found in the Landmarks section.

Happy exploring!

As usual, if you have any comments, or suggestions for virtual visits, you can contact me using the Contact Form on the Scotland Class page. Thank you to those who have done this already.
