Friday 24th April

Good morning!

Today is the 6th birthday of my Labrador Boo! So, with that in mind and because I know so many of you have dogs, today's visit is to Battersea Cats and Dogs home. It is such a good visit and perfect for a weekend! Obviously you can have a peep at the dogs who currently need a new home, and there is lots of advice about rehoming a dog and a FAQ section, but the sections we are visiting are those that give lots of good ideas of things to do with our dogs . . . all of them very child friendly. As we can't take our dogs out as much as we would like at the moment, the Brain Games for Dogs section is particularly good because, as well as physical exercise, it is important that we exercise their brains . . . it also means they won't get bored. Scatter games are very simple, like a treasure hunt for your dog, and they only require your dog's normal food or treats. The Dog Advice and Dog Care sections have lots of useful information and there are some brilliant dog training videos including, settle, sit, stand, stay, 'lie-down', 'watch me', 'drop it' and nose touch. I have also included the recipe for home made dog biscuits! All of the links are in the new Micellaneous section.

Happy making, playing and training!

As usual, if you have any comments, or suggestions for virtual visits, you can contact me using the Contact Form on the Scotland Class page. Thank you to those who have done this already.
