Friday 27th March

Friday 27th March

Today is the 50th Birthday of Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Opening on Good Friday in 1970, It is now the home to 341 animals from all over the world.

Although the Park is closed at the moment, it  has live web-cams in the Meerkat and Humboldt Penguin enclosures. They are fun to watch!

The links are in the Farms, Wildlife Parks and Zoos section below.

As people are not able to go far this weekend, I have added web-cams and virtual tours of places you may you may like to visit.

With the current beautiful weather, I have added a beach live web-cam, Mother Ivey's Bay in Cornwall. There is a life-boat station in the background and sometimes you will able to see the life-boat launching. The link is in the Beaches section below.

The Natural History Museum is always a very popular place to visit at the weekend, often with very long queues! Their interactive online guide is fantastic. It has short films, virtual reality and even Dippy the Diplodocus back on display in the entrance hall. The link is in the Museums section below.

Finally this weekend, if you have been to London you may have seen HMS Belfast docked on the south bank of the Thames, near Tower Bridge. 'HMS Belfast is the most significant surviving Second World War Royal Navy warship. Since her launch over 82 years ago, she fired some of the first shots at the D-Day landings, served in the Arctic Convoys, and in the Korean War.' HMS Belfast is now a museum and has an interesting virtual tour, perfect if you are interested in warships. The link is in the Museums section below.

I hope you have a good weekend.
