Healthy Living
- ‘A Life’ workshops were offered to all children. By participating in a range of activities they learnt more about finding ways of keeping healthy and how to adopt a healthier lifestyle by making good health choices.
- Mrs Baker, our school Catering Manager introduced a daily healthy snack trolley. The children purchase snacks and drinks at the start of morning break; it has proved to be very popular.
- An extensive range of sports clubs and events are offered to the children throughout the year including: football (STFC), gymnastics, basketball, kwik cricket, Bhangra dance, street surfing and multi skills.
- Children in different year groups participated in a programme of sporting events organised by the Ridgeway School. A variety of cluster sports festivals were enjoyed including swimming, badminton and tri golf.
- A school based cluster Olympic sports event which culminated in an award ceremony to acknowledge achievements of the best performance.
- To celebrate the Olympics the Swindon Sports Partnership organised a series of events for schools. The Y6 children enjoyed an exciting day of ice hockey at the Link Centre.
- Y2 and Y5 children have enjoyed Pedestrian Training.
- We have a healthy eating focus in YR.
- Our Teaching Assistants carry out ‘Huff and Puff’ in the playground at playtimes.
- We have new play equipment installed and the children have enjoyed this.
