Good morning!

Today we are learning about and visiting Orangutans. Through deforestation, palm oil plantations, illegal hunting and the illegal pet trade, 3,000 Orangutans are killed each year. The Orangutan Conservancy and Orangutan Outreach are dedicated to protecting Orangutans in their native forests and natural habitats and their web-sites have lots of photos and information to learn more about these beautiful animals. Orangutan Outreach is home to about 450 orphaned and displaced Orangutan and they have an adoption programme, but stress that adoptions are virtual! They also have a YouTube channel where you can watch an extract from 'Jungle School'  . . . Jungle School definitely looks like a fun place to be!

All of the links can be found in the Farms, Wildlife Parks and Zoos section.

Happy exploring!

As usual, if you have any comments, or suggestions for virtual visits, you can contact me using the Contact Form on the Scotland Class page. Thank you to those who have done this already.
