Good morning!

We have a more local visit today, to Stonehenge; probably the world's most famous prehistoric monument. The English Heritage web-site has a lot of information about Stonehenge, including: History, Why Does Stonehenge Matter? and Building Stonehenge. There is also a fantastic Virtual Tour Inside the Stones. Here you can sit in the middle of the stone circle with an amazing 360 degree view. Included are 'hotspots' that you can click and find out more about the stones. There is also a Skyscape, where you can learn about the movements of the sun, moon and planets. During the day this is live and accurate, and at night is computer generated so that you are able to see the live locations of the stars and five planets.

All of the links are in the Landmarks section, in the Stonehenge tab.

Happy exploring!

As usual, if you have any comments, or suggestions for virtual visits, you can contact me using the Contact Form on the Scotland Class page. Thank you to those who have done this already.
