Industrial Action Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May

Dear Families,

Industrial Action Thursday 27th April

We wanted to inform you that tomorrow there will be industrial action taking place outside our school, and as a result, there will be a picket line present. If you or your children would like to show your support or ask questions to the team taking action, you would be very welcome to do so.

We also want to give you advance notice that some members of our team may choose not to cross the picket line. If they make this decision, we may need to send children home as safety for all is paramount, and that relies on having enough adults present. We ask for your understanding as this is a personal decision that these staff members will make, knowing that they will not be paid for the day.

Industrial Action Tuesday 2nd May

We will confirm which year groups and classes will be open or closed on Tuesday 2nd May by the end of this week. However, we are aware that more staff members are looking to and/or have changed unions so we wanted to share with you that we do anticipate more classes being affected. Due to current funding, we are already working at minimum staffing capacity even on days when there is not industrial action. We aim to offer spaces for vulnerable children but cannot make any guarantees. We cannot open safely without enough adults. Further communications will follow.

We understand that this may cause some disruption, and we apologise for any inconvenience that may occur.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation.

Best regards,

Mrs Phillips
Head Teacher
