Knowledge Organiser Workshop

26 September 2019

Dear Parent/Carer,

Knowledge Organiser Workshop

Thank you for all the feedback we have received about the use of the Knowledge organisers. Your feedback is very important to us and we will do everything we can to provide adequate support.

Knowledge organisers are proven to be a key tool in aiding long-term retention and building confident learners. They enable the children to own their learning, practise it and record in a way that helps them to remember. However, we are aware that some parents are unsure of the right way to use them and have asked for clarity.

We are pleased to inform you that the Curriculum Team will be holding a Parent workshop on Tuesday 8th October 2019, 4.30pm -5.30pm and Thursday 10th October 2019, 9am-10am (the second workshop is a repeat of the first, so you will only need to attend one of the sessions).

At each workshop, we will explain in detail how the knowledge organisers work, after which we will split into different groups where you will be given the opportunity to ask the members of the team any questions. We will also bring in some children’s practice books in order to share some ideas of the different ways your child could record their self-quizzes.

This is going to be a very useful workshop and we encourage all parents, especially those who have doubts or are confused, to attend.

To book a place in one of the sessions you can either email, phone 01793695134 or drop by the school office.

Please let us know which session you would like to attend and how many adults will be attending and your child/rens name and classes.

Thank you for your continued support

The Curriculum Team
