Sports Relief Week
Sports Relief Week
Week of 9th March – 13th March
Following on from the huge success we had with Sports Relief 2 years ago, East Wichel School is keen to get all the children, parents and staff actively involved in a week of sporting activity. Outlined below is what we are planning for the week and we hope everyone will join in to the best of their ability and have lots of healthy fun along the way!
Every morning – Wake and Shake
Each morning we will be doing a ‘Wake and Shake’ before school on the main playground. Please bring your children down to the playground at 8:30am for this. There will be class flags where children will need to put their bags. After the ‘Wake and Shake’, the children will line up by their class flag and their class teacher will bring them into school. All parents are welcome to join us for the ‘Wake and Shake’. Donation buckets will be available if you would like to contribute.
Children will be running either half a mile (KS1) or one mile (KS2) each day. Please make sure the children have their trainers in school each day.
In PE, Inter House competition
During PE lessons, children will be taking part in competitions to win points for their House. Please make sure your child has the correct colour PE t-shirt for their House team.
Lunchtimes – Penalty shoot out
Each lunchtime, children can pay £1 for the opportunity to shoot 5 penalties against Mr Gray and Mr Webb!
Friday – Dress up as your Sports Hero
On Friday, children to dress up as their Sporting Hero (don’t worry children can just wear sports kit) and bring £1.
Staff will be running or walking 5km after school to raise more money for Sports Relief. Please sponsor us by leaving a donation in the buckets provided (playground in the mornings or at the office). We really appreciate any support we get.
