Thursday 23rd April

Good morning!

At the moment, Scotland Class and Wales Class are focusing their work around Pirates, so today I have planned the visit with them in mind . . . although it has lots to interest all age groups! Today's visit is to the Royal Museums in Greenwich; including the National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark, one of the fastest clipper ships of its day. As all of the museums are closed, they have developed a section called The Journey Continues. Here you can find Stories from The Sea, which includes some really good videos for inspiring and developing poem and story writing, from EYFS to Key Stage 2. The Pirate section has so many activities! My favourites are videos called, 'Act Like Pirate' and 'Live Like a Pirate'! There is also a Pirate Activities section, including games and making activities and a Pirate Objects and Images section.

Finally I have also added a fun tour (not from The Royal Museums) of a Pirate Ship!

All of the links are in the Museums section.

Happy exploring!

As usual, if you have any comments, or suggestions for virtual visits, you can contact me using the Contact Form on the Scotland Class page. Thank you to those who have done this already.
