Wednesday 24th June

Good morning!

As places begin to re-open, this week we are visiting places that can be visited now, or after 4th July. (Although they may not necessarily be completely back to 'normal'). Visits this week are to places that are within an hour of Swindon. It's important to support our local attractions so we don't lose them! Today our visit is to Bowood House and Gardens.

Bowood House itself has a fascinating history and is set within 100 acres of beautifully landscaped Parkland. There are also beautiful gardens to discover. However, if you haven't visited before, Bowood has the best adventure playground!

Children aged 12 and under can enjoy a range of activities from walking along the treetops on a series of aerial walkways

to pushing themselves to new heights and taking the plunge down the famous 19 foot vertical drop Space Dive.

The playground is also equipped with balance beams, boat swings, trampolines and climbing frames.

There is also plenty of space for relaxing in the sunshine, picnics and ball games.

The web-site also has information about an exciting new attraction for 'inquisitive under 4’s and intrepid under 7’s' called 'The Den' . . . it sounds fantastic!

Currently, Bowood is only open to Season Ticket holders, but updates will be released very soon about general re-opening.

All links can be found in the Miscellaneous section.

Happy exploring!
