Year 4 - China

China Class

Welcome to China Class!

The teachers in Year 4 are Mrs Matthews (China Class) and Miss Wilkinson (Egypt Class).

The teaching assistants are Mrs Mackay and Mrs Suida.

Term 2

Our topic this term is 'What's the Matter?', which links to our Science topic States of Matter. We will be completing lots of exciting experiments to explore the properties of solids, liquids and gases.

In English, we will be reading the book 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. We will be using this to inspire our own adventure stories based on a the text. We are very excited to get reading! Have a read of the blurb below to find out a bit more about the story.

Charlie Bucket loves chocolate. And Mr Willy Wonka, the most wondrous inventor in the world, is opening the gates of his amazing chocolate factory to five lucky children. It's the prize of a lifetime! Gobstoppers, wriggle sweets and a river of melted chocolate delights await - Charlie needs just one Golden Ticket and these delicious treats could ALL be his.

We would be grateful if you could take the time to talk with your child and support them using the Knowledge Organisers. Separate guidance on how to do this is available in the Practice Books.

PE will take place twice a week and one of these sessions will be outdoors. Year 4's PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a named PE kit in school every day which includes trainers for outside PE.

Please do come and see me should you have any concerns. We want you and your child/ren to be happy at East Wichel.

With many thanks for your continued support.
