School Closure Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, the school is now closed to the vast majority of pupils but we will like you to know that we are thinking of you and your family in this difficult time.Your child's learning is very important to us so we would like to continue to provide them with continued education whilst they are at home. We will be communicating mainly via 'Class Dojo'. Daily tasks will be uploaded on there to be completed by each child. We welcome photographs and videos of the children's work so that we can give them feedback and award them some points for their effort. If you are experiencing any difficulties or have any questions, please send  us a message on class dojo and we will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support

Welcome to Year 5

Welcome to Mexico Class. We hope that you will have a wonderful year with us - we have some exciting learning opportunities planned!

Please do check this page regularly for any updates and look at the Knowledge Organisers below to see what we will be learning about and focusing upon each term.

The Year 5 Team

Our topic for Term 6 is called 'Trapped by Ice - A Tale of Endurance' and focuses on Ernest Shackleton's third Antarctica expedition abroad the Endurance.

Key Dates:

Monday 1st June: Term 6 begins

Songs

Here are some songs that we have been learning in class, feel free to listen and sing along!

PE will take place twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) and one of these sessions will be outdoors (Monday). Please ensure your child has a named PE kit in school every day which includes trainers for outside PE.

Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering in school please come in and see us; we love having helpers in! (You will need to be DBS checked, if you haven't already been checked please see Mrs Drew in the office.)

Please do come and see me should you have any concerns. We want you and your child/ren to be happy at East Wichel.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Mr Gray
