Governor Profiles
Nicola Stanton
I work for the Ministry of Defence, where I am a Programme Manager with responsibility for delivering scientific capability and the development of new research facilities. Previously, I was a post-doctoral research fellow in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham. I enjoy hill walking with my husband, Paul, and am a keen amateur landscape photographer. We have a son, Theo, who was born in 2012.
Anna Penney
I joined the East Wichel Governing body in 2016 when my daughter started school and I have enjoyed seeing and guiding how the school has grown and developed over that time. For work, I'm an actuary and programme director, running multi-million, multi-year actuarial change projects for a global insurer. When not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, and learning new craft-based skills.
Joshua Gray
I am currently (Nov 2019) in my third year of teaching Year 5 at East Wichel Community Primary and Nursery. In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and playing badminton. I am looking forward to this new and challenging role and supporting the school on its developmental journey in as many ways as possible.
Laura Parnham
I joined the Governing board in March 2021. I joined hoping to bring my knowledge and expertise to the board. In September 2021 I took on the role of the Resources Chair. I am an accountant and I run my own accountancy practice. My husband and I moved to East Wichel in 2009; our son was born on Christmas day 2015 and he now attends the school. Outside of work I like to spend time with my family and friends, watching football, going for walks, spending time down our allotment and reading books.

I work in sales, but I do a lot of Charity work and work for the community in my spare time. I joined the learning Martial Arts with my son and Husband, and joined the Governors as my son attends the school and I want to give back to the school.

I joined the Governing Board in January 2023 to give back to the local community. I currently work in Higher Education Administration and have experience working with Secondary Schools through their PHSE/RSE curriculum and Safeguarding in Wales. I moved to Swindon in March 2020 and am enjoying getting involved in the local community. In my spare time I enjoy live music, paddle boarding, cycling and exploring the coffee shops of the Cotswolds.
