Governor Profiles
Anna Penney
I joined the East Wichel Governing body in 2016 when my daughter started school and I have enjoyed seeing and guiding how the school has grown and developed over that time. For work, I'm an actuary and programme director, running multi-million, multi-year actuarial change projects for a global insurer. When not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, and learning new craft-based skills.
Laura Parnham
I joined the Governing board in March 2021. I joined hoping to bring my knowledge and expertise to the board. In September 2021 I took on the role of the Resources Chair. I am an accountant and I run my own accountancy practice. My husband and I moved to East Wichel in 2009; our son was born on Christmas day 2015 and he now attends the school. Outside of work I like to spend time with my family and friends, watching football, going for walks, spending time down our allotment and reading books.
Matthew Corps
I joined the Governing Board in March 2021 to help make a difference to the school and the local community. My eldest son attended East Wichel between 2016-2023 and now attends Ridgeway and my youngest son is currently in Y3.
I work in the Cloud Architecture team at Nationwide Building Society as a Solutions Engineer helping to direct and shape our technology strategy to support over 16 million members and more than 17,000 employees.
During my free time I enjoy cycling, photography and spending time with family and friends.

I work in sales, but I do a lot of Charity work and work for the community in my spare time. I joined the learning Martial Arts with my son and Husband, and joined the Governors as my son attends the school and I want to give back to the school.
Bronwen Rees
I joined the Governing Board in January 2023 to give back to the local community. I currently work in Higher Education Administration and have experience working with Secondary Schools through their PHSE/RSE curriculum and Safeguarding in Wales. I moved to Swindon in March 2020 and am enjoying getting involved in the local community. In my spare time I enjoy live music, paddle boarding, cycling and exploring the coffee shops of the Cotswolds.
