We have been contacted by The AIM Group who deliver Free Online Level 2 Accredited Courses to help better understand some key issues around young people's mental health and wellbeing, along with a range of other qualifications that may help with developing your own careers.


Here's some of the most popular subjects available:

  • Customer Service
  • Functional Skills - Maths
  • Functional Skills - English
  • Level 3 Diploma - Children and Young People's Workforce (Must be in TA/LSA role)


These are just the popular qualifications, but they have over 30 available!

The qualifications are completed within a 6–12 week period in your own leisure. They are equivalent to a GCSE Grade C. You can do as many as you like, however you can only do one at a time.


The only criteria you must meet to be eligible, is: 


Aged 19 or over on or before 31st August 2023

Have lived in the UK/EU for 3+ years    

Not already on a Government funded course

Swindon Rocks Half Term Newsletter Events and offers

Bikeability Half term Course


Support Work in Schools (SWiS) a Free 12 week course, starts on the  Wednesday 24th of January, and they still have lots of spaces available.
It's not too late to join. 
It’s a 12-week course with attendance once a week. Timings will be between 10am-2:30pm, 46-49 Commercial Road SN1 5NX. 

SWiS is for those who want to work with children, either as TAs in schools or in nurseries.
They can be support assistants within the education sector, MDSAs, dinner ladies etc.
to join the course you don't have to have any  experience or be working in a school or Nursery setting. 

The course covers 5 units and 2 Employability units. The units include Child and Young Persons Development, Safeguarding of Children and Young People, Communication and Professional Relationships, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Schools as Organisations.
At the end, participants will get a Level 2 Awards in Support Work in Schools.

Dear Parents and carers

With the warm weather still with us, please help your children remember how they can stay safe when in or near water.

Please take a few minutes to go through the quizzes with them to remind them how enjoy the water safely, especially if you are considering going to one of our lovely beaches, rivers or other waterways this weekend.


Every entry will be send a certificate and one winning entry will be chosen from each quiz and win a VIP trip to a DWFRS fire station and a playmobil or lego set (please see quiz for details of which prize)
